Who are we
|
|
|
We
are a small family with two little children and three adult bengals and a
retired british shorthair. Our cats are part of our family, and the bengalbreed
is our shared interest. Hanne works as a consultant in COWI and Thorbjørn is an
economist in the Danish Economic Council.
The temper of the cats was very important to us, when we were about to choose our breed of cats - not a least because we were about to have our first child at that time, but also because we only had the opportunity to keep the cats indoor. Our experiences with bengals and children are very positive, and our bengals have had a great time being just indoor. Now we have made a big outdoor run to the cats (clik to see our outdoor run). In 2000 we had our first bengal - Scarlett - whom we bought from Gene Ducote in US. Our interest in the breed started already years before, and we spent a lot of time finding information about these extremely beautiful and wild looking cats. |
We
become very quickly addicted to the many interesting aspects within the breeding
of bengalcats.
When one first gets started with bengals - there is no return - The bengalcats have a truly nice and lovely temperament - with lots of energy. And there are some obviously traits in the bengalcat that are very exotic. The exotic element is not "only" what the pictures can capture - but lies for example also in their moves. Actually we think that their moves is one of their most fascinating traits - some bengalcats walks in a way that distinctly reminds us of the wild cats. Another characteristic in the bengal cats, that is passed on from the Asian Leopard Cat is that they are absolutely crazy with water. The Asian Leopard Cat has fish on the menu and don't mind a little swimming to get this!
